Before the visit
When you book online or call, we ask about the pest, where you have seen it, how long it has been going on and who lives in the property, including children, pets and anyone with health conditions. For some pests, such as bed bugs and fleas, we send preparation instructions.
1. Inspection
The technician starts by looking: inside and outside, in the places the pest is likely to live, feed and get in. For rodents that means kitchens, lofts, under sinks, around pipes and the outside walls. For insects it means beds, carpets, cracks, appliances and voids.
2. Identification
Treatment depends on knowing exactly what the pest is. We confirm the species, how widespread the problem is and what is attracting it.
3. Explaining the plan
We tell you what we have found, what we recommend and how many visits are likely to be needed. If the job needs more than a standard visit, such as several follow-ups or proofing work, we agree the plan and cost with you before going further.
4. Treatment
We use the right method for the pest and the property, which may include tamper-resistant bait stations, traps, gel baits, residual insecticides, dusts or proofing. Products are applied where pests live and travel, not on surfaces where food is prepared.
5. Safety advice
We explain anything you need to do afterwards: how long to keep people and pets out of a room, what not to clean, and what to look out for.
6. Follow-up
Many pests need follow-up visits: rats and mice to check bait and activity, bed bugs and cockroaches to catch eggs that hatch after the first treatment. We book these with you before we leave.
